Escaped from the Uk to experience the outstanding architecture and landscape of Barcellona, blown away and incredibly inspired by the unique art and culture of the city. Although the city is home to stunning architecture, quirky museums and streets, my favourite visit has been slightly away from it, on top of the rural hills lays the gardens of park Guell, an incredible work of art by the multi talented Antonio Gaudi. Going to Barcellona as a landscape architect was peculiar, I found myself observing more attentively and closely, to the big, important landmarks but also to the small details of the ondulated pavings of the rambla high street, or noticing the different plant species happily growing in such a hot place. Overall it was the most refreshing and best decision I could've made this year which will help to towards significantly towards my degree, I truly believe that field trips are essential as part of our Landscape architecture degree.
